Volunteers Needed for the Grass Drags
September 18th, 2013To all, we are still looking for more help for the Grass Drags. We are setting up Thursday night the 10th approx 5:00-6:00pm and finish Friday morning to be ready for Friday 2:00pm. The drags are open Friday the 11th 2:00 – 9:00 and Sat & Sun the 12th-13th 9:00 – 6:00. Our booth will be open for all these times! We will need help after 6:00 Sunday to breakdown and load!
We also will need some help to get the trailer and the smoker to and from the event. They can go down anytime after the 5th as they can be stored @ Scotts house near the drags. The trailer needs to be back the following weekend for the Danforth Bay RV show and would like the smoker back the same weekend to the clubhouse.
Please let us know if you can help with anything! If working the drags I need to schedule you in and get you a shirt ASAP if you need one! Thank you

NHSA Grass Drags & Water Crossings
September 16th, 2013The Grass Drags are less than a month away. We are looking for volunteers to work the SOS food booth.
Once again we will be selling our famous turkey legs as well as hamburgers, hotdogs, Italian sausage and pulled pork sandwiches! We are looking for members to help with cooking, serving and any other function needed during the event. We are looking to set up Thursday night the 10th if possible and the event runs Friday 2 pm -9pm and Sat & Sun 9am to 6pm. We will need some help Friday morning to finish setting up and after 6 on Sunday to tear down. We are also looking for volunteers to bring the trailer and the smoker down to Scott Torrey’s house near the drags the prior weekend or during the week so they are there for Thursday night. If you are interested in working the drags or helping with the trailers or any other way please let us know. Grass Drags – join us in loading the trailer!
September 13th, 2013We will be packing up the trailer for the Grass Drags at 8:00am on Saturday October 5th.
We will be making this a day long event. We are going to cook the pork butts using the smoker and pull all the meat for our pulled pork sandwiches. We will also be prepping onions and any other food items we can to get ready for the event. Any help will be appreciated and it is a great way to help out the club and the grass drags!
We will be cooking up some steaks, chicken and burgers for lunch!

Trail work!
September 5th, 2013Trail work has started every Saturday except for Grass Drag Sat the 12th through trails open in mid Dec and depending on snow they may go longer!
Meet at the club house @ 7 am for breakfast. We like to be on the trails by 8:00 This is a great way to help the club out and maintain our trails!
Details of the work for the day will come via e-mail from Paul Sav or will be explained during breakfast. The club has tools however any hand tools, saws, etc are welcome. Dress for the weather that day and for work in the woods. Jobs may include but not limited to bridge work, tree and brush removal, seeding, chipping and stump removal.
If you do not receive the e-mails each week (usually on Wednesday) from Paul and want to please let us know. In most cases Paul will have info on what we are doing for the e-mail. Send your info to the club e-mail @ sosclub@sossc.com Thank you and we look forward to having you there!
