State Chain Saw Training Class

SOS will be hosting the state chainsaw safety class. 

Class size 15 Max 

Saturday Sept 13th 

Location SOS Clubhouse 368 Pound Road Madison NH 03849

Clubs that are required to have the class per DNCR guidelines will have priority up to the 2 members.

Saturday June 7 Camp Clean-up Day

Below is a list of items needed and work to be done.

Areas:

Lodge back area – weed whacking and bush clearing

Lodge front – basic gardening

Lodge middle front – scraping and painting

Tent site clean-up – leaf’s blown and removed tent platforms swept, and fire pit area cleaned.

Food is provided hot dogs hamburgers. Hours 10-2

Sunday June 8 Camp Open House

Open to Campers & donors / volunteers & snowmobile clubs 10 am -2 pm to see what camp is all about.

Friday July 18 Camp Fishing Derby.

An annual tradition for more than 2 decades, Easter \seals & Camp Sno-Mo holds a freshwater fishing derby for the campers in partnership with NHF&G and the NHSA (SLEDNH)

Set-up starts @ 9 am

Fishing @ 10 am

A Pizza Lunch @ 12 noon

Join us the camp as they create lifelong memories for the campers & celebrate their achievements! Lunch will be followed by the weekly awards ceremony, when they will present Scout merit Badges to the campers.

This meeting is also our election month for the Board directors!

We will vote on the BOD, the officers voted on will take office in May.

There are 7 positions on the BOD all are available if you are interested in running. 

The SOS BOD is a one-year term. 

President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, Trial Master & 2 Board Members!

Per the SOS by-laws in order to run for a BOD position you must be an “Active Member” the definition of “active” is you must have attended at least 3 club meetings in the current season and have at least 8 hours of service to the club in the current season.

If you have anything you are looking to request funds for, please submit them to the BOD / Finance committee by April 5th

Per the by-laws

Any requests for expenditures of over $100.00, other than normal operating expenses, must be submitted to the Financial Committee in writing at least two (2) weeks prior to a general meeting.

The Financial Committee will meet prior to the general meeting to discuss the request.

If the request is deemed to be an appropriate use of club funds, and prudent in light of the Club’s financial status at the time, the request will be presented to the membership at the general meeting for approval or denial.

If the request does not meet these criteria, the request will be denied and will be presented at the general meeting as a denied request, with no further discussion.
