Trail Update 3/4/2017

March 3rd, 2017

Note from Tim Cupka

Warm temperatures and rain have done a number on the trail system. Many water bars have opened up and washed out stretches of trail. Groomer was out yesterday clearing trees and cleaning trails. Trout pond loop is good, campground area is good. Expect spring conditions. Our groomers will be out again today working on the Madison end of the system. Trails to clubhouse will be worked on as well, there will be bare spots along the way but, certainly passable. Chimney trail should be avoided, there is no snow at the top and some major wash outs along the way. Airstrip is icy and wet in spots please use caution.

The Clubhouse will be open tomorrow so come on by.

Madison Fire Rescue Sled Fundraising

January 26th, 2017

Madison Fire Rescue

Is looking to replace their off road rescue sled!

Budgeting allows for an upgrade to an open toboggan style sled!

Scrub Oak Scramblers Snowmobile Club

Has teamed up with the Department to help raise funds to upgrade the sled to a fully enclosed “Snowbulance”

We are looking for assistance from our members, Guests, other local snowmobile clubs and our local Businesses for donations for this cause. SOSSC has already donated $500.00 and will match all donations up to another $500.00!

Let’s all come together and help provide the funds for The Madison Fire Rescue Department to purchase the proper equipment needed to help keep us safe and help us in an emergency event both on and off road!

Trail Update 1/10/17 From the Groomer Guys

January 10th, 2017

Nothing has really changed after another great weekend. Our conditions remain good with a couple water bars still popping up, we will continue to work on them please use caution in those areas. More snow is needed to add to our frozen base, something is brewing for mid week and warmer temps through Friday. Please be mindful of the signed restricted area at O Junction, the landowner has requested we stay out of the pit or we will lose the trail. This is our most visited trail to the Chimney. Please stay on trail in this area and all other areas of our system. Stay safe, think snow!
