Ok all, pending storm coming up and we may actually get some good snow. As stated previously we need to get a decent amount and sustainable snow meaning heavier not just fluff. Currently the trails & gates will remain closed. The groomer operators will need to get out there to work their magic. We know everyone is itching bad but please give the guys some time to get the trails packed and groomed. Providing the snow amount and condition there is a good chance we will open for the weekend. We will be seeing early riding conditions so watch for open area’s and water bars. We will do our best to fill them in. Also we have been advised Silver Lake has large open water and many unsafe ice conditions. Please stay off. Thank you all for your support and let’s hope this one brings us the white stuff!

Stay safe & start your snow dances!

Ok all, as many of you know due to COVID 19 the Ride-In has gone virtual this year. It will be very challenging but as snowmobilers NHSA is going to try to move forward to continue the tradition and our 49^th year of the ride-in.  

So we are still doing the auctions which includes our Carrol County basket. This year’s basket is “Entertainment”. Agreed this one is more challenging than in other years but we can do it for sure. 

Some ideas are movie or show tickets, theme parks, even game tickets to our NE teams or even local ones. We can even go back old school with board games or up a few years video games or consoles! Start working your brains to come up with other ideas and more importantly go out and get those donations.  

We have done the Ride-In with no snow and still bested our donations to Camp Sno-Mo so let’s not let those kids down. With any luck they will be back and Camp this year and we need to help make sure they can afford to go. 

Sean Pinard @ Scrub Oaks will be heading up the basket for Carrol County so bring any donations to the SOS Clubhouse. If you have something you need picked up let us know maybe we can help. Virtual Ride-In is scheduled for the week of Feb 8^th so we need the basket items by Jan 27^th so we can bring them to NHSA.

To all our members, 2020 has been a rough year for many of us however for one of our neighbors near the clubhouse and residents of Madison, tragedy struck. Saturday December 19^th the home of Sarah MacDonald and Paul Harvey caught fire and unfortunately was a total loss. The couple is safe including Sarah’s mom who was there at the time. This happened just before Christmas making it even worse, everything they owned is gone. If you have been through something like this you know what it can do to you.

As neighbors to us on Pound Road we are asking for donations if you have the ability and can help out the couple. There is a Go fund me page on the Town of Madison’s FB page if you choose to utilize that. This page also has more details. If you can and wish to help please send a check to SOS and in the memo just indicate MacDonald so we can direct the funds. Sean Pinard has been in contact with Nancy Harmon, a friend of the Sarah and Paul’s, she is heading up fundraising and the go fund me page. There has been talk of articles of clothing however at this point it seems they may be in good shape already with that, money unfortunately is the best thing at this time.
