Trail Work Pending Available Help
December 23rd, 2020Ok all, we did not originally list a work party for this coming Saturday as it is the day after Christmas and many will be hope with their families. However if you are not and looking for something to do, we have some work! We still have some maintenance to do on our 2000 Tucker, possible some more work on the 1000 if we are not using it. We have a large tree ready to come down between junctions Q & G. Possibly one to come down between Junctions T & M We still have a handful of trails that have not been checked and may need brushing as well as a few area’s that could use some signing.
If you are around, available and would like to help out let us know. We need to know if anyone is available to plan out some work and maybe breakfast. You can respond to Sean Pinard @ smpinard@roadrunner.com thank you
December Meeting / Yankee Swap Cancelled
December 18th, 2020To all, unfortunately due to rising concerns of COVID-19 the BOD has had to make the extremely tough decision to cancel this weekend’s Meeting to include the dinner and Yankee Swap. We continue to struggle with these decisions and hope you are all safe and remain safe until better times. We will continue to monitor and make decisions on future meetings and functions including open houses as we are finally seeing snow. We are sorry as this is one of or more attended functions and we all missing seeing everyone. Please all have a very safe and Happy Christmas.
Upcoming snow / Trails / Membership
December 16th, 2020To all, we are anticipating some snow coming up depending on where it goes and how much we will still remain closed until groomers can get out and set up trails.
Anyone looking to join a club and register their sleds please do so early so you are not waiting when looking to ride. The NHSA Portal is the best and fastest way. If you join SOS directly it take time and we are not responsible on how long it takes to get your voucher. Again the fastest way is through the portal. https://www.nhsamembership.com/club/104/scrub+oak+scramblers If you have any questions feel free to contact us. You can also get the info on our web site on the join our club page.
Goe Hill Trail Update
December 11th, 2020To all our members and guests. Pending snow conditions, we will have the Goe Hill trail open this year. This trail runs from “T” Junc (three fingers) toward Madison by Bald Ledge and back to “Q” Junction. (last Junc near the clubhouse). This trail completes the loop in our system for the Clubhouse. We have not had it in a few years due to a landowner concern.
Be advised this trails has been slightly re-routed which includes about 100 yards of road on Goe Hill. There is livestock near this trail and it still crosses said landowner’s property on part of the old trail. Fortunately we will still have the lookout. This is a very sensitive area and cannot be abused. Stay on the marked trail at all times and ride with caution on the road and in a manner not to disturb the livestock. This took a ton of work by multiple members over the last year and we don’t want to lose it again. Thank you all for your cooperation! SOS Trail Crew
